Description
Glittering Dreams is my interpretation of a new electronic music microgenre called ‘hit em’ that is currently taking X/Twitter by storm.
Conceived by Drew Daniel of Matmos (or rather by a mysterious rave girl in his dreams), hit em is characterised as being in 5/4 time at 212bpm with ‘crunched out sounds.’ Articles on the origins of hit em have begun popping up online from Stereogum, NPR, and The Guardian.
Glittering Dreams, takes you on a journey through an exploration of asymmetrical meter, past a manic moment of gabber, and into an offbeat yet danceable conclusion.
It’s certainly a departure from my previous work, but it represents my love of experimental electronic sounds, and I’ve kept just a little of my voice so you know it’s me!
